November Speed Round

If you’re like me, you take one look at a page full of text and run the other way. Don’t worry my lazy friends, I got your back.

Can you believe November is over already?? It feels like it JUST started!! I feel like I’m finally back on track with my reading after my move last month, but I still didn’t read as many books as I was hoping to. GAH! I am bound and determined to be better in December. VICTORY WILL BE MINE!! But for now, here’s everything I read this month with a quick word of what to grab and what to avoid.

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

Read it? Yes!!

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING and has definitely made it to my all-time favorite list. There’s feminism, horses, action, blood, and even a little romance. I loved it!!

All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater

Read it? No.

I can’t believe I just typed the word no. But I can’t deny that Stiefvater’s newest novel fell a little flat for me. From what I can tell this is an unpopular opinion, so give it a chance if you normally love her books. If you’ve never read anything from her though, definitely don’t start here.

A Torch Across the Night by Sabaa Tahir
(An Ember in the Ashes, Book Two)

Read it? YES!!

Although I didn’t find this book to be as good as it’s predecessor, it was still an amazing sequel that packed a shocking punch. If you haven’t picked up this series, I definitely recommend it!

Wires & Nerve by Marissa Meyer

Read it? Yes!!

A whole story about my favorite girl Iko?! Heck yes!! She was my favorite secondary character in the novels and I’m so happy she got some love. It felt like there were more than a few loose ends left after Winter and it was nice seeing those tied up. This story was awesome and I can’t wait for the new one! GO IKO!!!

  1. AHHH THE SCORPIO RACES!! I HAVE SO MUCH LOVE FOR IT!! I also adored All the Crooked Saints too. 😍😍I’m sad it didn’t work for you but I do understand because it’s a bit different to her normal style right?! Also Iko’s graphic novel was so much fun. I love that we got more of Thorne and Cress too.😂

    1. *Flails* AHHH RIGHT?!?!? THE SCORPIO RACES IS SO GOOD!! I love it so much! Already want to re-read it and I just finished not too long ago! And All the Crooked Saints really was different from her other books. Originally I listened to the audiobook, but I think I want to try re-reading it in actual book form. Maybe listening to it wasn’t the way to go??

Iko’s graphic novel really was a lot of fun, I loved it!! It was so short though!! I’M HUNGRY FOR MORE!!! 😃
