September Speed Round

If you’re like me, you take one look at a page full of text and run the other way. Don’t worry my lazy friends, I got your back.

Here’s everything I’ve read this month with a quick word on what grab and what to avoid.

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater (Raven Cycle, Book One)

Read it? YES!!!

This book was amazing and Ronan is now my favorite fictional human. In this second installment of The Raven Cycle series, we delve deeper into our favorite characters from book one and it’s an all around richer experience. I HIGHLY recommend this book and this series.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

Read it? YES.

I won’t lie to you, knowing the horrible fate that awaits this adorable cast of characters is agony sometimes. However, this book was an extremely fun read and watching Catherine kick butt at the end made it all worth it.

The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice (Vampire Chronicles, Book One)

Read it? YES.

Nothing really beats the infamous classic Interview With the Vampire, but this was a great sequel that delved and expanded on an interesting character. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me think. What more could I need?

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater (Raven Cycle, Book Three)

Read it? YES!!!

You can’t go wrong with any of the Raven Cycle books. Yet another brilliant addition to an already amazing series.

White Cat by Holly Black (Curse Workers, Book One)

Read it? NO.

This one is tough to give a straight answer. The story was interesting and I really loved the world Holly Black built here, but I didn’t really care for the main character Cassel. Just not my cup of tea. I’d say read the novel yourself and steer clear of the audiobook because Jesse Eisenberg only made things worse.
